First Saturday Lunch

The lunches in the church held on the first Saturday of each month have provided a very good opportunity for fund raising in aid of different charities.  There is a charity stall at each lunch stocked and run by Newnham residents the proceeds of which go to a different charity every month. The stalls are an added attraction for lunch-goers, selling cakes, books, plants, bric-a-brac or any combination.

Glevum Consort

The Glevum Consort is delighted to be invited to perform in the Lydney Festival for the third time.
As in previous years, the programme will be based around the music of the Renaissance and will feature this season’s collection of sacred choral music from Italy and the Iberian peninsula.  With Palestrina’s exquisite Missa Papae Marcelli as the centrepiece of the concert, the Consort will highlight some of the extraordinary musical output from Italy, Portugal and Spain during this period, from the beautifully crafted motets of Iberian composers Victoria and Lobo to grand works from the Venetian tradition.

Scarecrow Festival

We held a ‘Scarecrow Festival’ at St Peter’s Church during the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd May. There was entertainment, dancing, music etc throughout the day, and a variety of things to do and see…not forgetting wonderful refreshments inside the church.  To read more about this event click here.
