Newnham Art Group
Newnham Art Group meets every Tuesday in the Armoury Hall between 10.00 and 12.00 with the exception of short breaks at Christmas and Easter and a longer recess in the Summer. The group consists of amateur artists who simply want to take time out on a regular basis to draw and paint and exchange tips, advice and ideas. There is no annual fee, members pay a small amount (currently £2.00 to cover room hire and refreshment costs each time they attend.
Well known local artist Geoff Jennings, runs a three hour workshop for the group on the first Tuesday of each month. We also have occasional tuition/demonstrations from other local guest artists. Usually members do their own thing each week but we sometimes undertake projects as a group such as painting our own versions of the same subjects or life drawing practice.
New members are always welcome and if you want to ‘have a go’ we have lots of spare materials to help you get started with minimum expense.
